Hill Country Steel utilizes the most up-to-date software available to offer our clients efficient, sound, and cost effective products. Using 3-D imaging, we can digitally construct the “structure” and validate all connection calculations using SDS/2, considered the pre-eminent software available for structural steel engineering and detailing. Gone are the days of hand drawing and manually checking calculations. We offer over 14 years of experience of successfully working with this system and have observed the reduction of field-based errors and misfits drop by 75%. This means that once the architects and engineers have validated the model, the shop and field product are completed faster, safer, and to exact specifications.

Upon completion of the model, SDS/2 utilizes an automatic detailing component that generates a set of 2D drawings. The customized 2D drawings include major member details, submaterial details and erection views. This allows the erection crew to have a true-to-scale application for use at the job site.
